Community to converge in aid of flood recovery

A FAMILY-FRIENDLY benefit concert will be held at the Stuarts Point Tavern on Sunday 15 June, in aid of recovery from recent flooding.

The event, organised by the Stuarts Point and District Community Organisation (SPaDCO) and other community groups, will run from 2pm till 5pm.

Funds raised – via cash donations, raffles, a book stall and maybe an auction of donated goods – will be distributed in the Kempsey region.

“Our well-known local band, ‘Bluesville’, will be volunteering their talent which will be interspersed with ‘open mic’ spots for the entertainment of our expected crowd,” said co-organiser Mark Merritt.

“Anyone who would like to perform, be it juggling, poetry, tap dancing, standup comedy or a song or three, can call to register for your ‘five minutes of fame’.”

Donations of goods or services will be kindly received by the SPaDCO team on the day.

To contact Mark, call 0427 571 770.
