THE Raleigh Repton Country Women’s Association (CWA) branch has reached the milestone of 89 years and is now focusing on how to celebrate its 90th birthday in 2027.
Established in 1937 Raleigh Repton CWA has been an important part of the local community for generations, bringing people together through friendship, support, skills sharing, fundraising, advocating for local issues and community projects.
The branch members are asking the community to participate in planning the 90-years celebrations.
“Would you like to be part of those celebrations; what can you do for your community?” CWA Group President, Leonie Saunders said.
“Our next meeting is on Thursday 2 July 2026 at 10am in the Mylestom Hall.
“Come and see what we do, bring your celebration ideas and join us for morning tea.”
Members are keen to convey that the CWA is about much more than scones and tea.
“It’s about friendship, supporting each other, helping the community, advocacy work, being a force in our local community, and keeping local traditions and connections alive,” she said.
Members are women of all ages and backgrounds, who either attend regularly or simply want to be involved in local community activities when they can.
They meet at Mylestom Hall on the first Thursday of each month at 10.00am.
“The branch warmly invites new members and visitors to attend and help ensure the Raleigh Repton CWA continues serving the community for many years to come.”
