THE recent Rotary River Run was a great success, providing runners with a picturesque course and no road crossings.
Held at Nambucca Head’s beautiful Bellwood Park on Sunday, 13 September, the fourth annual 5km community event attracted a strong field.
Entrants were keen to conquer the new course, which followed the scenic riverside path from Bellwood Park to the V-Wall and return.
Local businesses generously supported the event, donating 23 prizes.
Winners in each division received prizes valued at $100 and a perpetual trophy.
The winners included:
– Men’s Division: Ferdinand Kous
– Women’s Division: Tamara Urquhart
– Family Division: Ferris Family – Nathan, Alison and Skye
– Junior Boys’ Division: Ben Ackerman
– Junior Girls’ Division: Lucy Ferris
– Team Division: Two Wolk CrossFit – Brendan Goswell, Damien Wood and Chris Barnes.
“Rotary wishes to thank all participants, volunteers, sponsors, and local businesses that all helped make the fourth Rotary River Run such a success,” a club spokesperson said.
“Funds raised support young people in our community, helping Rotary continue its commitment to providing opportunities and making a positive difference in the lives of local youth.”
