ALTHOUGH showery conditions were forecast, and eventuated, a good field played the Saturday Betta Electrical sponsored stroke event for the Monthly Medal and Spoon.
Keith Pitt showed form to win the day and Medal with Mike Simpson runner up and Spoon winner for the best Gross score on the day. Carla Ross is benefitting from her regular golf with second runner up.
Straight shooters with nearest the pins went to Allan Clarke (A), Phil Bambury (B) and John Dowzard (C grade).
Desma Hughes must be in the handicappers sights with her regularity at the top of the board in ladies events, this time relegating Wendy Gilmour to runner up in their Stableford.
With 44 points Peter O’ Neill thought he had done well enough to win the 283rd Mid Week competition. Then came Cowen Branford with a winning 11 under par net 47 and a reduced handicap.
Simarly to the Mid Week, after the first round of the Chook Run most players accepted John Poole had an unassailable lead. Obviously Mitch George didn’t read the script and came in to win by one shot.
