Something for everyone on Youth Week program

NAMBUCCA Valley Council has supported local youth organisations to help deliver a program of free events for NSW Youth Week, which runs from 16-26 April.

“Youth Week is about celebrating our local youth and the great contribution young people make to the Nambucca Valley,” General Manager Bede Spannagle said.

“We’re especially proud that this year’s program has been shaped by our Nambucca Valley Youth Council.

“Their ideas and insights have been invaluable in creating activities that young people genuinely want to see, not just during Youth Week, but all year round.”

Nambucca Valley Youth Week 2026 program highlights include:

  • Nambucca Heads, Beats & BBQ – Monday 20 April from 10am

Young people aged 12 to 24 are invited to come and chill out at the Nambucca Youthie and give DJ-ing a try. Grab a sausage sizzle and listen to the beats in a safe hang out space hosted by Key Community Group.

Youth Week is a state-wide initiative that brings young people aged 12 to 24 together to connect, express themselves and have fun through a range of community-led activities.
NSW Office of Youth provides a portion of funding, matched by Council to support activities, while local organisations also pitch in funds or in-kind support.

This year’s theme for NSW Youth Week is “Dream. Dare. Do.”
Nambucca Valley Youth Week 2026 is a partnership project between NSW Office for Youth, Nambucca Valley Youth Council, Becoming U – Uniting, Jaanymili Bawrrungga Aboriginal Corp, Key Community Group, Mission Australia, Blue Sky Communities, Macksville Lions Club, Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire (Bellingen Nambucca Youth Service), Carers NSW, Lifeline, Lifetime Connect and Nambucca Valley Council.
