RESIDENTS are being encouraged to have their say on the future of Scotts Head by completing the first survey for the Scotts Head Master Plan.
The survey is open for feedback for three weeks and closes on 17 May.
Nambucca Valley Council General Manager Bede Spannagle said the community would also have the opportunity to learn more about the project at a drop-in session on Sunday 3 May from 10am to 1pm at the Scotts Head Rec Hut.
“Scotts Head is bordered by beautiful beaches and foreshore areas, much-loved by locals and visitors alike,” Mr Spannagle told News of The Area.
“Council understands the Scotts Head community has desired for years for a plan to better coordinate the management of these important areas, and in December a master-planning process was kicked off, so please go online and share your ideas on how to better manage and improve the village’s foreshore areas with Council.”
The Scotts Head Master Plan has been developed by Council to create a framework for the future management of the village’s foreshore and public spaces.
Reflections Holidays has played a significant role in the process, contributing financially to the project and helping inform the planning process as a major tourism operator in Scotts Head.
A project reference group has been formed to guide the development of the master plan.
The group includes Mayor Gary Lee, Council Director of Engineering Services David Moloney, Caroline Winter, Tony Crimmins and community members John Schmidt, Nicole Lane, Eric Graham and Liam Swan.
Following the initial survey, there will be two further opportunities for the community to provide feedback.
A second round of consultation will take place from June to July, when different parts of the master plan begin to take shape.
A final consultation period is planned for October to November before the completed plan is presented to Council.
