THE iconic shield logos of Harley-Davidson and The Salvation Army are joining forces once again for the annual United We Ride fundraiser which will take place on Saturday 12 September.
Riders of all makes and models of motorcycles are invited to participate, as are friends and family who want to be part of the day.
“This isn’t about the badge on the tank – it’s about the Salvos shield we are supporting,” Mid North Coast NSW Harley Owners Group Director/Secretary Justin Owens told News Of The Area.
The abiding purpose of the annual United We Ride is a nationwide show of unity, community spirit and generosity.
“It’s a fantastic cause, assisting The Salvation Army with the unfortunate increasing numbers of homeless Australians due to the current economic climate, through no fault of their own, such as employment redundancies, and extremely hard times.”
United We Ride is a Harley-Davidson Australia/New Zealand initiative that started in 2025 by all Australian/New Zealand Harley-Davidson dealerships.
Locally that includes North Coast V-Twins Motorcycles on Orlando Street in Coffs Harbour.
“Last year was an amazing success that raised over $160,000 with just over 3000 riders, inspiring Harley-Davidson to open this great event to everyone who rides any brand [of] registered motorcycle,” Mr Owens said.
“In 2026, the aim is to go even further – bringing more riders together, raising more funds, and increasing the impact for those who need support the most.”
Fundraising begins with the required registration minimum $20 donation, with participants also able to create their own fundraising profile and raise additional funds.
That ‘need’ never diminishes.
Over the past two years, The Salvation Army has received more than 300,000 calls relating to homelessness.
“Every dollar raised through United We Ride helps support people facing hardship, and riders can contribute simply by doing what they love: getting on their motorcycles and riding together,” Mr Owens said.
On the day, participating rides will depart Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country at the same time, on the same day – 11am AEST on Saturday 12 September 2026.
The Coffs Coast participants will depart from North Coast V-Twins Motorcycles.
“The shared start time is a powerful symbol of riders coming together as one,” Mr Owens said.
“We are taking some great back roads before heading to a fantastic lunch point … we don’t give too much information before the ride to keep it a surprise.”
