DEAR News Of The Area,
IT has been a failure of government through its complacency in allowing evil to insidiously evolve within our communities that has now put our way of life persistently under threat from deranged ideologies and malicious activists that have proliferated in the absence of strong and rational decision making.
This current incident (the Bondi shootings on 14 December) is not an isolated issue, but rather an element of a larger one of misguided tolerance towards radical fringe groups, deviance, and criminality which has emboldened and encouraged intimidating and violent behaviour.
The preaching of hatred under the guise of religion and the provocation behind a façade of protesting must stop.
Divisive groups and individuals… need to be called out.
Those who attempt to poison the principles of law and order have no place in civil society.
If politicians continue to ‘close the gate after the horse has bolted’ rather than face up to the challenge of confronting disobedience and dissension, there will be ‘no horses left in the stable’.
We need leaders who will make necessary decisions and implement necessary policies to safeguard our common values.
Regards,
Adam FULLER,
Mid North Coast.
