DEAR News Of The Area,
MANY towns in Australia were named after UK locations – Newcastle, Penrith, Swansea, Cardiff et al.
I propose that in the 21st century we change our name from Nambucca Heads to The Bahamas.
The reasons? Our climate now reflects a wet tropical pattern, and we are surrounded by magnificent coastal and estuarine environments.
Tourism plays a major role in the economy. I could imagine Bob Marley living here very comfortably… nudge nudge, wink wink!
It’s the vibe. Where do you live? The Bahamas!
And, while we are at it, just imagine.
Who do you work for? The Bahamas Council!
Everyone would move to The Bahamas.
And the Nambucca is not a crooked river, or is it?!
Vote one, The Bahamas!
