U3A Fishing for Fun

DEAR News Of The Area

Fishing! The heading says it all. We catch fish. Well, sometimes we do.

This week we fished the northern side of the Nambucca River at Macksville.

Straight away, edible size bream was regularly caught. Veronica, Heather, Jai,  Morelle, Greg and Bruce all shared the honours for the day.

Somehow the ladies in the group make fishing effortless as they regularly catch fish no matter what the tides or weather might dish up. This week was the same as the ladies caught six out of the 10 fish landed.

Bruce caught two good-size bream early in the morning, which resulted in a comment from Greg that “Bruce is going for a personal best today”.

It goes without saying that our coordinator, Greg Artlett, will help get newcomers started in the fun of fishing.

Greg not only supports U3A but also NSW Fisheries as a volunteer trainer.

Contact Greg on 0427 689 400 if you wish to join our group.
