THE Valla Expressions tenth annual Art Show opened at the Valla Beach Community Hall on Saturday 3 January and will run until Sunday 11 January from 10am to 5pm everyday.

The team of artist organisers were well prepared for a busy opening day and welcomed a crowd of approximately 100 to an evening wine and cheese soiree on Sunday 4 January.

In 2018, local artists had nowhere to display their work, so they chose to use the Valla Beach Community Hall while it sat unused during the school holidays.

Many members of the original group still take part in the nine day exhibition, including founder Lyn Walsh, who showcases her unique ceramics.

Nambucca Shire Mayor Gary Lee was on hand to officially welcome the visitor and congratulate the talented member of Valla Expressions saying, “We’ve seen the exhibitions growth and success expand along with the entire community, everyone supporting each other.”

Following the official welcome, entertainment was provided by Muso Artists Gary Cattanagh and his mate Danny Fleming.

Pat Greenwood, one of the 16 Valla Expressions Artists held a free kids Stencil Making Workshop in a marquee outside the Art Show, with the children able to take away their own free framed work.
