THE resurgence of the Bowraville Tigers continues, with the senior men preparing for a major push during the approaching Hastings District Rugby League 2026 final series.
The Tigers enter the finals in a solid fourth place on the competition ladder out of a field of 11 teams. They recorded a season tally of 9 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw.
Bowra began their 2026 campaign fiercely and after six rounds were sitting second on the ladder.
“There was a lull throughout the middle part of the season, with a lot of road trips down south,” said Luke Shields.
“However the boys stuck together and battled through to finish the season just as strong as the start, notching up some good wins to pave the path into the semifinals.”
The team’s playing roster is more than 90 per cent Bowraville Juniors, which is testament to the depth of the club’s talent and the unity among players, coaching staff, supporters and the broader community.
Shields said that coach Karl Spear also recruited wisely during the off-season, snapping up some fine players interested in making the switch.
Clay Saville, Mundarra Caldwell and Brayden Luffman have been pivotal to the Tigers’ success throughout 2026.
The Tigers now face a showdown with top-of-the-table Kendall in the first qualifying semifinal on the road at Kendall on Saturday, 5 September.
There will be a supporter’s bus running to and from the game for any members of the community who want to come and cheer along the Tigers.
