Talented Female Program footballers finish year on a high

THE North Coast Football Talented Female Program (TFP) has celebrated another successful year with tributes to female football and an awards ceremony.

The program has provided talented young players from across the region with an opportunity to train together, develop their skills and test themselves against some of the best emerging footballers in the country.

Under-16s coach Nathan Silvy said the program had played an important role in the development of the region’s young female players.

“The North Coast Football Talented Female Program (TFP) gives talented young female players an opportunity to train together each week in a high-level environment,” Silvy said.

“It helps develop their technical skills, decision-making, game understanding, confidence and work ethic, while exposing them to players from across the region.”

The benefits of the program were highlighted at the State Youth Championships in Newcastle, where the North Coast produced an outstanding campaign to finish as champions.

“The benefits of the program were clear at the State Youth Championships in Newcastle, where our Under 16 girls performed exceptionally well and finished as champions,” he said.

After a big year representing their local clubs, while also committing to an additional training session each week, the North Coast girls will now take on another major challenge.

The squad will travel to the Gold Coast to test their skills against some of the best emerging players from across Australia.

“Next up is the Premier Invitational on the Gold Coast, where the girls will test themselves against WNPL teams from across Queensland and interstate, as well as international opposition.

“It’s another fantastic opportunity for the girls to challenge themselves, gain experience and continue their development,” Silvy said.
