SATURDAY multiplier event, sponsored by Tony and Sue Adams, needs two players to combine as the net scores of each player on each hole are multiplied. For example Phil Bambury on the first had an eagle (5points), partner Dave Poole (4 points) resulting in an unheard of 20 point – great start. Phil and Dave went on to be convincing winners with Neill and Ali Cunneen finishing runners up.
While Brian King had the best individual net score of 10 under par 46 points – it was of little consequence as the teamwork wasn’t there.
As well as Phil on the first Allan Clarke and Robert Fensom had eagles on the 7th and 9th respectively.
For the first time in months winner and runner up in the Mid week Competition went to the ladies, Carla Ross and Desma Hughes respectively.
On Tuesday the ladies played a Stroke event with Cathy Cresswell winning. Runner up Sharon Howlett also scored nearest the pin on the 3rd hole.
Jim Wilkes needed a net 27 points to win the nine hole Chook Run. He loses 8 shots off his handicap (any points over 20 plus one as winner). Runner up was Graham Vincent. While Tom Hodgson had nearest the pin Terry Johnson scored a hole in one on the 3rd hole.
