NAMBUCCA Valley Mountain Bike Club has come up with an innovative way to attract new members while keeping local riding tracks in good condition.
A recent club newsletter outlined the scheme.
Launched as a trial in February, Adopt-a-Track has already attracted new members and helpers through its flexible maintenance approach.
“It gives people who cannot attend working bees another way to contribute and provides a framework for local students to combine riding with track care during visits to the mountain bike park,” the spokesperson added.
“You choose your track, choose the time and choose who (you ride) with.”

“The club takes pride in keeping its 26 km of cross-country trails safe, well maintained and fun to ride,” a club spokesperson said.
“Alongside emergency call-outs for fallen trees and urgent repairs, monthly working bees and the new Adopt-a-Track scheme help keep the trails welcoming for regular riders, locals and visitors.”
The club also hosted several events, including Triple X and the Summer Series, drawing riders from across the coast.
This year, the summer series has been renamed the Ian Porteous Summer Series in memory of the club’s former club president.
Now in its fourth year, the Summer Series gives riders of all ages and abilities the chance to experience friendly, inclusive, and supportive club racing.
With increased volunteer support and funding, Jacks Ridge Mountain Bike Park is growing its reputation as a leading mountain biking destination.
