GRANTS are now available to the Nambucca Valley’s not-for-profit organisations planning projects, programs and events that benefit local communities.
Up to $5000 in funding is available from a fund pool of $25,000 through round two of the 2026/27 Community Grants Program.
Grants dispersed in earlier rounds had produced excellent, grassroots initiatives that made a positive impact in the valley, according to Mayor Gary Lee.
During engagement for the valley’s 10-year Community Strategic Plan, residents said they want it to be inclusive, safe, and connected.
“This grant program helps to bring the community’s ideas to life,” Lee said.
“Their projects and events help people to participate, connect and support one another.”
Incorporated not-for-profit (NFPs) associations or organisations with an Australian Business Number can apply for funding to deliver programs, projects or events in the Nambucca Valley.
Nambucca Valley Council acting General Manager David Moloney said the program was also open to eligible not-for-profit organisations based outside the local government area, where their proposed activities would deliver benefits for the Nambucca Valley.
“We welcome applications from within or outside the valley that deliver clear benefits for Nambucca Valley residents,” he said.
“Round one of the grants program for this financial year saw numerous great programs awarded funding, including the Roaming Hall Concert Series, ShoreTrack Youth Kitchen Project, and a Youth Dungeons & Dragons event.
“I’m sure there are many other groups that just need some funding to help bring their ideas to life.”
He encouraged NFP’s to visit council’s website to see if they are eligible to apply before the 13 November closing date.
The council has allocated a total of $50,000 to the Community Grants Program for this financial year, with $25,018 available for this round.
To be successful, applications need to demonstrate alignment with the outcomes of the Community Strategic Plan 2035, available here:
