NAMBUCCA Valley small businesses are enjoying this October’s Shop Local campaign as it provides a fun hook to encourage local shopping and it ignites conversations about why it is important to support small businesses.
Nambucca Valley Mayor Gary Lee said Council is collaborating with businesses and partners to deliver the Shop Local campaign this October to support the valley’s economy and local jobs.
“Council is partnering with small businesses and News Of The Area to provide a fun Shop Local campaign this October,” he said.
“The campaign helps to achieve Theme 4 of the Nambucca Valley Community Strategic Plan 2035, supporting the valley’s economy to thrive.
“Shop Local posters are now being seen across Macksville, Bowraville, Nambucca Heads and our village’s streets and it’s great our local shoppers are backing the initiative.”
It’s not too late for small businesses to get involved in the Shop Local campaign. Posters outlining the campaign’s hook, the chance to shop locally and enter the draw to win a $200 local shopping voucher, are still available for businesses to pick up from Nambucca Libraries, Council Administration Centre in Macksville or the Bowraville Technology Centre.

Council has also supported running free networking opportunities and workshops across October. Events still to come include:
- Meet and Greet Business Support Providers – 21 October
Business owners are invited to meet the region’s new business support providers and learn about available services and assistance programs.
