FUNDING opportunities are currently available for not-for-profit (NFP) organisations and volunteers across the Nambucca Valley, offering valuable support for local community projects.
Nambucca Valley Mayor Gary Lee said Council donations of up to $1000, along with Federal Government Volunteer Grants ranging from $1000 to $5000, are now open for applications.
“Nambucca Valley Council is keen to support our NFP organisations, as they deliver grass-roots, wonderful programs and services to our community,” he told NOTA.
“Volunteering is something I am passionate about as during my previous career as a police officer I spent a lot of time with Police Citizens Youth Clubs, delivering fun activities with young people.
”There are dozens of great charities in our community which bring together residents, help those people in need and provide important services.
“I encourage all of these NFP groups to apply for one of Council’s Section 356 donations of up to $1000 and gain some help to continue doing great things.”
Council’s Section 356 Donations Program was updated in August 2025 and is now open to applications year-round.
Eligible not-for-profit organisations can apply for funding of up to $1000, with successful applicants required to use the funds for the intended purpose by 30 June 2026.
Acquittal documentation must also be submitted by this date.
Applications are assessed by Council staff before being presented to Council for a final decision, provided eligibility criteria are met.
Organisations are permitted to submit one application per year and must complete acquittal requirements to be eligible for future funding.
Further information and application details are available via Council’s website.
For enquiries regarding the donations program, contact Council’s Grants and Contributions Officer Teresa Boorer on 6568 0221.
Mayor Lee also highlighted the opening of the latest round of the Federal Government Volunteer Grants program, which is currently open to expressions of interest (EOIs).
If you are a part of a volunteer NFP organisation, you may be eligible to apply for grants of between $1000 and $5000.
Grant funding can be used for eligible activities or items such as small equipment that assists the volunteers in their role, transport costs of volunteers with disability, or fuel costs incurred by volunteers.
Expressions of interest for the Federal Government Volunteer Grants close on 29 March 2026.
