THE Nambucca River Combined Probus Club has celebrated 21 years of friendship, fellowship and connection at its annual June birthday meeting and luncheon.
Members gathered at the Nambucca Heads RSL Club’s Downunder Bar, which was decorated in blue and gold for the milestone celebration.
The occasion coincided with another significant milestone, with Probus marking 50 years in Australia.
Guest speakers were current Rotary President Kerry Dedman and Past President and long-time member Gary Johnson.
Members enjoyed a slideshow presentation highlighting Rotary’s involvement in community activities and youth exchange programs.
The Club thanked Kerry and Gary for joining members for the birthday celebration and sharing an insight into Rotary’s work in the community.
Three of the Club’s original members, Morrie, Jennifer and Allan, joined newest member Lulu for the honour of cutting the beautifully decorated birthday cake.
The celebration brought together the Club’s past and present, marking more than two decades of friendship and shared experiences.
Members also thanked Maureen for organising another successful and enjoyable event.
For 21 years, the Nambucca River Combined Probus Club has provided opportunities for retirees and semi-retirees to make new friends, stay connected and enjoy a wide range of social activities.
Probus clubs provide a network of like-minded people who come together for friendship, community and companionship, helping foster a sense of belonging and purpose.
For those working part-time or entering retirement, Probus offers opportunities to remain active and connected through regular meetings, interesting guest speakers, new experiences and group activities.
The Nambucca River Combined Probus Club’s 21st birthday was not only an opportunity to celebrate its history, but also the friendships and connections that continue to bring members together.
