FOLLOWING the surfing career of young Yarrahapinni local Sandon Vowels gets more exciting as he heads into the warmer months’ competition cycles.
Sandon reported his latest winning results to Nambucca Valley News Of The Area.
“The competition was part of the Coffs Coast Classic and I participated with 50 others,” he said.
“There were nine in my division.”
The event was held by Woolgoolga Board Riders at Mulloway Beach on Sunday, August 23, and Sandon won every heat.
“My final score was a 15.65 combination, putting the other surfers in a combination situation, meaning they needed more than one wave to win,” he said.
“I competed in the senior boys – years 10, 11 and 12.The winds were offshore and the conditions were head-high.
“Such a super-fun event, good to catch up with friends and score some sick waves,” Sandon said.
Next up, teams will compete at the Kirra Teams Boardriders Challenge.
