NAMBUCCA Valley Council has officially launched its new Investment Prospectus, showcasing the region’s competitive strengths and highlighting strategic opportunities for businesses and investors looking to be part of the valley’s future growth.
The prospectus has been developed as part of Council’s commitment to economic development and investment attraction and identifies priority sectors with strong growth potential, including Native Food Production and Food Processing, Advanced Manufacturing, Circular Economy and Plastics Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics, and the Visitor Economy.
Nambucca Valley Mayor Gary Lee attended the launch of the prospectus at the Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club this week and said the project was a great example of what could be achieved when government, local businesses and industry, and the wider community worked together.
“This prospectus is more than a document. It is a statement of confidence in the future of the Nambucca Valley and a roadmap for sustainable economic growth,” Cr Lee said.
“It showcases the opportunities that exist across our region and highlights the strengths that make the Nambucca Valley a great place to invest and do business in.
“Importantly, it is also an example of what can be achieved when Council, local businesses, industry representatives and government partners work together.
“It also showcases the many exceptional, multi-generational businesses and industry we have in our valley, including Comet Windmills, Midcoast Trucks, Sable Engineering, Express Coach Builders and more.”
The prospectus aligns with significant regional opportunities, including Valla Urban Growth Area Stage One industrial land release and emerging opportunities associated with the proposed Great Koala National Park.
Business NSW Mid North Coast Regional Director Rod Barnaby welcomed the initiative and said strategic investment attraction was critical to ensuring long-term prosperity for regional communities.
“Business confidence is built when regions demonstrate leadership, vision and a clear understanding of their economic strengths,” he said.
“This prospectus sends a strong message that the Nambucca Valley is open for business and focused on creating the conditions that support sustainable economic growth.
“The Nambucca Valley is ideally positioned between two of Australia’s strongest growth corridors, Sydney and South-east Queensland, making it well placed to attract investment and support business expansion.
“Most importantly, this work reflects the strong collaboration between Council, industry, businesses and stakeholders who are all committed to building a resilient local economy that creates opportunities for future generations.”
Cr Lee thanked the many businesses, stakeholders and Council staff who contributed to the development of the prospectus – it was truly a team effort.
Council is encouraging businesses, industry groups and community stakeholders to share the prospectus through their networks and help amplify the message that the Nambucca Valley is a prime destination for investment, innovation and sustainable economic growth.
