SANTA’S elves and helpers were busy on Sunday morning, excitedly preparing the Stuarts Point Hall for the much-anticipated annual visit from the ‘Jolly Man’ himself.
The event, like many others throughout the region, was forced to relocate from the publicised park location of previous years due to the unpredictable wet weather conditions, though ironically, the sky cleared to brilliant sunshine by the 10am starting time.
Event organiser Chris Parke, a committee member of Stuarts Point and District Community Organisation (SPaDCO), said, “The recent relentless rain made the foreshore park unsuitable for the picnic-style gathering.
“We didn’t want to be responsible for a lot of soggy bottoms as the children waited for Santa to turn up, so we made the call on Friday to set up at the hall.”
“Unperturbed, the SPaDCO crew welcomed dozens of kids and their parents/carers at 10am with a series of fun indoor games and activities, including sack races, quoits and crafting fun.
The Yarrahapinni Stuarts Point Rural Fire Service (RFS) performed a very special call-out to deliver Santa, whose helpers had an ample supply of gifts for him to deliver to the excited young ones.
SPaDCO Chairperson Mary-Lou Lewis told NOTA the organisation has big plans in 2026.
“We are grateful to the generous business community who support all our efforts throughout the year, and we look forward to the many events coming up in the new year,” she said.
