Call out to artists for upcoming Women in Art exhibition

LOCAL female artists have an opportunity to exhibit their artwork at the Nambucca Valley Women’s Business Network’s (NVWBN) ‘Women in Art’ exhibition, opening at Macksville’s Matilda Street Gallery on Saturday 16 May.

Last year’s event saw 95 artworks from 44 artists from the Nambucca, Macleay, Hastings and Bellinger valleys, with more than 100 attendees at the opening event.

NVWBN President Libby Foster said that the event keeps going from strength to strength, attracting a broader range of artists and artwork styles.

“This will be the fourth art exhibition that we’ve held, and every year we’re impressed with the quality and variety of artworks that our very talented local women artists create,” she said.

The Women in Art exhibition aligns well with the values of the network, said Ms Foster, and was worth the effort that went into planning and putting the event on.

“Our goal is to support, inspire and empower Nambucca Valley women, by providing opportunities for our members and guests  to connect with other women from across the valley,” she said.

“We make an effort to create a range of different types of events, including breakfast and evening events, workshops and annual events such as this art exhibition.

“Mixing it up allows local women to attend, and provides choices based on their busy schedules and interests.

“We are excited to support the creative women in our midst with the opportunity to exhibit again this year.”

The expression of interest process will be open until Friday 7 May, with participants asked to send in their EOIs online: https://events.humanitix.com/nvwbn-women-in-art-exhibition-eoi
