A BAND of North Coast swimmers travelled to Sydney’s Olympic Park to take part in the NSW Country Short-Course Championships from Friday, 10 July to Sunday, 12 July.
The North Coast competitors were drawn from 10 clubs and, in total, they entered 340 events.
Matilda Buchholz from Macksville Marlins Swimming Club won 12 gold medals and along the way was named Female Swimmer of the Meet.
This was for her outstanding swim in the 11-years 400 freestyle, which was 99.35 per cent of the state record.
In total for the area, 91 medals were won over the weekend along with 114 top-10 placings.
